CPRD’s Chief Executive Mr. Md Shamsuddoha spoke in a Press Event organized by COAST Foundation and other Bangladeshi CSOs at COP 26 in Glasgow.
The CSOs of Bangladesh expressed their grave concern on the developed country’s repeated attempts of evading GHGs emission reduction obligations and patronizing false solutions of limiting global warming while capitalizing Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. The CSOs slammed the theory of “Net Zero Target” and called the countries to scale-up domestic efforts of emission reductions under the NDCs (Nationally Determined Contribution) to a “Zero Carbon Emission” by 2050.  The CSOs demanded adequate climate finance for LDCs & MVCs through both of the GCF (Green Climate Fund) and their public sources, and support establishing National Loss and Damage Mechanism with separate financial allocation for addressing loss damage on the ground.
