The Center for Participatory Research and Development (CPRD) is pleased to publish its Annual Report 2024–2025, presenting the organization’s key initiatives, achievements, lessons, and institutional reflections from a dynamic year of work on climate and development justice.

During 2025, CPRD continued to strengthen its role as a research-based policy advocacy organization, working to bring community realities into national and global policy spaces. The report highlights CPRD’s major contributions across research, policy advocacy, capacity building, knowledge generation, and networking. During the year concerned, CPRD’s research portfolio covered critical issues including climate change adaptation gaps, climate-induced economic and non-economic loss and damage, displacement and migration, climate finance governance, women’s reproductive health in climate-vulnerable areas, WASH financing, and nature-based solutions.

A major feature of the year was CPRD’s continued effort to translate evidence into policy influence. Through seminars, policy dialogues, workshops, policy papers, and advocacy engagements, CPRD worked with civil society organizations, youth, media, researchers, local actors, development partners, and policymakers to advance rights-based climate action. CPRD also strengthened collective advocacy through the Climate Justice Alliance-Bangladesh (CJA-B), CANSA-Bangladesh, and other national and international networks, contributing to policy discourse from local realities to global climate negotiation spaces.

The report also documents CPRD’s capacity-building initiatives for NGOs, CSOs, youth, media professionals, public officials, and local stakeholders. These initiatives aimed to strengthen understanding of climate science, locally led adaptation, climate finance, loss and damage, and climate policy advocacy.

Importantly, the Annual Report goes beyond listing achievements. It includes an honest institutional self-reflection on the limitations of CPRD’s work as a progressive organization, including challenges related to resource efficiency, internal accountability, leadership development, sustainability, advocacy reach, and training design. In response, CPRD has outlined practical strategies to strengthen internal systems, broaden leadership, improve planning, diversify partnerships, expand research accessibility, and ensure more sustainable institutional growth.

The Annual Report 2024–2025 reflects CPRD’s continued commitment to science-informed, locally grounded, inclusive, and justice-centered policy change. It also reaffirms CPRD’s aspiration to work with communities, civil society, policymakers, development partners, and knowledge actors to build a more equitable, accountable, and climate-resilient future.
