On behalf of the Centre for Policy Research and Development (CPRD), Rai Dhar Ruchi participated in the three-day workshop titled “Peace in Practice: Mainstreaming Conflict Sensitivity and Conflict Transformation within Organizations,” held from 25–27 April 2026 at CCDB Hope Foundation, Savar, Dhaka. Bringing together peace practitioners and representatives of partner organizations, the workshop aimed to strengthen participants’ understanding of how Conflict Sensitivity and Conflict Transformation (CSCT) approaches can be integrated into organizational systems, programme implementation, and institutional practices.
The workshop provided a collaborative learning platform for participants to exchange experiences, reflect on organizational challenges, and explore practical strategies for mainstreaming conflict-sensitive approaches. Sessions focused on the conceptual foundations of conflict transformation and conflict sensitivity, institutional practices, and the application of the Do No Harm (DNH) principle in development and peacebuilding interventions.
Through interactive discussions, group exercises, and practical reflections, participants explored ways to integrate CSCT at multiple levels, including organizational mindset, internal systems, policies, programme design, and day-to-day decision-making. Key discussions emphasized the importance of conflict analysis, identifying dividers and connectors, strengthening monitoring and learning mechanisms, and ensuring that interventions contribute positively to community relationships.
The workshop also highlighted the need for organizations to develop practical tools and institutional mechanisms, including CSCT guidelines, operational checklists, staff orientation processes, policy reviews, and internal learning systems, to support sustainable conflict-sensitive programming.
CPRD values such learning and exchange platforms, which promote collaboration, critical reflection, and practical approaches to inclusive and sustainable development. Participation in this workshop contributes to strengthening CPRD’s ongoing commitment to integrating evidence-based, context-sensitive, and peace-responsive approaches across its research, advocacy, and development initiatives.
