H. M. Rayhanul Islam

H. M. Rayhanul Islam is a Research Officer at the Center for Participatory Research and Development (CPRD) in Bangladesh. He holds an MSc in Environmental Science from Bangladesh Agricultural University, also completed a BSc in Environmental Science and Disaster Management from Gopalganj Science & Technology University. He was awarded the prestigious National Science and Technology (NST) Fellowship in 2024 by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Bangladesh, in recognition of his outstanding academic and research contributions. At the Bangladesh Agricultural University Research System (BAURES), he was actively involved in a project examining microplastic contamination in freshwater fish farms, conducting laboratory analyses, field sampling, GIS mapping, and data interpretation.

Additionally, he worked as a Research Associate at Research & Report Consultancy. Also, he served as a supervisor for the national Population and Housing Census under the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics. His research interests include environmental contamination, microplastics, climate-induced vulnerability, ecosystem health, and spatial analysis using GIS. He has held leadership roles in environmental and youth-focused volunteer organizations, such as the Environmental Science Club and Aritrika, where he played key roles in organizing research initiatives and awareness campaigns. His dedication to sustainable development and environmental stewardship continues to guide his growing impact in the field.
