Md. Mashrup Hasan

Md. Mashrup Hasan is serving as a Research Intern at the Center for Participatory Research and Development (CPRD) in Bangladesh. He holds Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) and Master of Science (M.S.) degrees in Geography and Environment from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), where his academic focus has centered on climate resilience, disaster risk reduction, and geospatial modeling. He has been awarded the National Science and Technology (NST) Fellowship by the Ministry of Science and Technology for his master’s thesis titled “Integrating Deep Learning and GIScience for Flood-Induced Public Health Risk Assessment in Sunamganj District of Bangladesh.”

Prior to joining CPRD, Mashrup Hasan worked as a Research Assistant at the SUST Research Center, where he contributed to projects on flood dynamics, climate-induced migration, and loss-and-damage assessment. His field experience spans several climate-vulnerable regions of Bangladesh, including Sylhet, Sunamganj, Patuakhali and Bandarban, where he engaged with marginal communities to understand local adaptation practices and resilience strategies.

In addition to his research background, he possesses strong technical proficiency in ArcGIS Pro, Google Earth Engine, and Python, with complementary experience in data visualization and statistical modeling. His research interests include climate change adaptation, environmental health, flood risk modeling, and community-based resilience planning.
