Center for Participatory Research and Development-CPRD cooperates with Germanwatch e.V, a nonprofit organization located in Bonn, Germany to develop a set of educational materials on climate change, especially for the youths and students.
To introduce the contents, CPRD in association with Germanwatch e.V, was organized a consultation workshop titled ‘Introducing Educational Materials on Climate Change developed through North-South educational Dialogue’ to share its content and to identify the way of its dissemination on 24 February 2014 in YWCA training Center, Mohammadpur, Dhaka, Bangladesh.
The workshop was welcomed with an introductory theme by Md. Shamsuddoha, Chief Executive, CPRD. Three interlink presentation was presented. Mr Mizanur Rahman Bijoy, Policy Advocacy Coordinator, NCC’B, presented on the issue on “Climate Change Impact in Bangladesh & Importance of including CC in National Education System”. The second presentation on “Introducing Educational Materials on Climate Change developed through North-South educational Dialogue” was given by Ms Sabnam Sarmin, Research Associate, CPRD. The final presentation on “Climate Change Issues in National Educational Curriculum” was presented by Mr Muhammed Forruq Rahman, Research Associate, CPRD.
In the workshop, open discussion was facilitated by Mr Muhammed Atikul Haque, Research Associate, CPRD and Mr Tapash Ranjan Chakraborty, Program Officer, Oxfam GB, made the concluding remarks. Participants were invited from different institutions and from different youth organizations. Education materials will be sent to the participant soon.
